Meet Will Mercer, NYC Dispute Pro
C. William Mercer, Esq.
C. William Mercer is a New York and Colorado attorney and mediator with thousands of hours of Divorce and Family, Community, Commercial and Employment Mediation and Arbitration experience. Will's training in Negotiation
and Conflict Resolution began through early-career work as a corporate labor negotiator in the steel industry, supplemented with formal training through the American Arbitration Association, Ph7 Conflict Resolutions, Inc., and the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Will's experience in mediation and conflict resolution spans the fields of domestic relations, workplace conflict, and community and business issues. In the arena of family law, he is a transformational mediator and conflict coach having spent much of his time in Colorado representing children in high conflict divorce cases as a Court-appointed Child's Legal Representative, Special Advocate, Child and Family Investigator, or Parenting Coordinator/Decision Maker.
Will has been an instructor in business ethics, business structures, agency, family law, paralegal studies and mediation for Red Rocks Community College, Parks College, the Denver Business College and the Arizona School of Real Estate and Business. He also served on the adjunct faculty of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law where he taught Dispute Resolution from 1995 through 1998. He also is an experienced adult educator and public speaker on a variety of topics ranging from the mechanics of ADR and co-parenting after divorce to the role of spirituality in conflict resolution.
In his spare time Will studies spirituality and yoga. He was ordained in 2008, by Rev. Dr. Christopher L. Bazemore of the United Divine Science Ministerial School in Largo, Maryland. Ministry and marriage brought Will to New York City in 2009, where he is the Senior Staff Minister of the United Divine Freedom Church of the Healing Christ in Harlem.
